TotalAV is a consumer security suite built around a clean, approachable interface. Alongside core antivirus, its plans add system clean-up tools, with a VPN and a password manager on the higher tiers, across Windows, macOS, Android and iOS.

Below we look at what TotalAV sells in Australia, what's different from its US plans, and who it actually suits. Plan contents and prices change, so check the renewal price in Australian dollars (AUD) on TotalAV's official Australia site before you buy.

Strengths and limitations

Strengths

  • Clean, beginner-friendly apps across desktop and mobile
  • Tune-up tools in every plan
  • Clear device counts per plan

Limitations

  • The VPN and password manager need the higher tiers
  • First-term pricing rises at renewal
  • Fewer advanced controls for power users

Who it’s for

  • People who want a simple, all-in-one suite — on a tier that includes the VPN
  • Users who value an uncluttered interface over deep configuration

Who should look elsewhere

  • Power users who want granular control
  • Anyone who already pays for a preferred VPN and password manager

What you get in Australia

TotalAV's pricing matrix, which has an Australian-dollar tab, lists three current plans: Total AV Plus (four devices), Internet Security (six devices) and Total Security (eight devices). The older Antivirus Pro is no longer sold to new customers.

  • Total VPN is included with Internet Security and Total Security, not with Total AV Plus.
  • The Total Password manager is included only in Total Security.
  • Data breach monitoring checks your email address against publicly available breach data.

What's different from the US plans

TotalAV doesn't run a separate Australian site, and its terms don't name an Australian company: the service is provided by Total Security Limited, incorporated in England, and Total Security U.S. LLC, both part of Point Wild.

Is TotalAV worth it?

If you want protection that's easy to set up on every device in the house, yes — its appeal is simplicity. Make sure the tier you pick includes the extras you're buying it for: the VPN starts at Internet Security and the password manager is only in Total Security.

If you mainly want deep control over every setting, or you already pay for a VPN and password manager, a different suite may fit better.

Before you buy: renewal and refund policy

TotalAV lists a 30-day money-back guarantee on annual and biannual subscriptions and 14 days on monthly and quarterly plans and add-ons. Plans renew at the regular rate until cancelled, and TotalAV says it gives at least 30 days' notice before an annual plan renews.
